Donnia went on to be trained as a Functional Family Therapist (FFT) working with the Department of Juvenile Justice. While working as a FFT Therapist Donnia serviced children and families whose youth were on probation for a wide range of offenses. After four years of practicing FFT, Donnia completed training to complete Comprehensive Children and Family Assessments with the Department of Family and Children Services. Donnia’s enthusiasm for reading and writing has led her to complete training in providing Domestic Abuse Assessments, Substance Abuse Assessments, Trauma Assessments and Kinship Assessments. Additionally, she has training in Aggression Replacement and Darkness to Light. Donnia has been a practicing therapist in the Fayetteville, Georgia area for the last seven years. Donnia’s greatest passion is assisting in building functional family units and she possess a zeal for skill building with individuals in early childhood to young adulthood. Donnia wholeheartedly believes that the key component of a therapeutic alliance/relationship is developing a connection where each client feels seen, heard and valued.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, game nights, indulging in her person definition of self-care and being creative. Her hobbies include: reading, writing, planning, organizing and animation.

Mental health is important to me because I truly believe we manifest our inner world, outwardly. It is my life’s goal to assist others in making their inner world as beautiful as possible.
