Individuals who are completing a substance use assessment, whether mandated or voluntarily, will be assessed using a variety of screening tools. The substance use assessment will include an overview of the individual’s past history, family background, trauma, severity and frequency of use with a particular substance or substance. The therapist will also assess the individual’s perception of usage and readiness for change. Additional recommendations may be made, when medically necessary, referring the individual to detox, residential treatments, IOP, PHP, substance use related workshops, AA/NA meetings in addition, to services provided at ICCCS.
